Today’s age is the age of acquiring 21st century skills, where the learner has the autonomy and is responsible for his own learning. Experiential teaching is very helpfu
l in creating such a learning environment which gives a practical approach to the learner. The learner learns from experience rather than learning from theory. Experiential learning takes one beyond the books. Its focus is on creating a learner-centered class by giving the learners a hands-on-approach.
Teaching has moved far beyond the teacher being a sage on the stage, rather teacher in this age is a guide by the side. Learning by doing is this age’s mantra. Kolb’s cycle explain this:

As rightly said by John Dewey, ‘Experience plus reflection equals learning.’ Experiential learning is more than just getting learners to “do something.”
